Adult Dance Classes 

Thriller! Dance     The 2011 classes (with dancers ages nine to 71) performed Michael Jackson's Thriller! at numerous Sioux Falls events again this Halloween in full costume and makeup.  We even danced Thriller at the 2011 Zombie Walk in the amazing State Theater.  Join us in September to prepare for Halloween 2012.  We also offer private instruction year-round to learn these classic moves- for parties, weddings or just the fun & fitness of it.

Adult Tap Dance    Blend fun with fitness!   Always wanted to make music with your feet?  Tap classes for absolute beginners.  Tap dancing lessons also for experienced dancers.  Children's tap classes also available.  Instructor Rebecca Hansen.

Adult Ballet Class    Known as the “foundation” of learning other dance forms, ballet promotes flexibility and better posture while it sculpts, strengthens, and tones the body.  It also develops poise and grace.  Instructor Rebecca Hansen.

Adult Jazz Class   Learn the styles & steps of this truly American dance.  From the styles of Fred Astaire in movies to Bob Fosse in theatrical productions to the popping movements of break dancing in the streets, jazz dancing offers a broad scope of fun and innovative dance movement to a variety of music choices.  Instructor Rebecca Hansen.

Adult Hip Hop Class     This energetic and dynamic form of dance, formerly known as “jazz funk” originated in the 1970’s.  Hip Hop continues to evolve with its styles of popping, locking, and breaking and has earned its place in dance studios alongside the other styles of dance.  Instructor Rebecca Hansen.

Dancing4Health!     No dance experience necessary!  A great solo dance class for a beginner to get started moving & dancing simple steps from dances like Waltz, Fox Trot, Tango and even Salsa without a partner!  Also experience movements used in ballet, jazz, and linedances like the Electric Slide and the Cupid Shuffle.  Instructor Lisa Myhre

SalsaSolo     Love to dance?  The Latin music keeps playing while the instructor guides you through fun, solo Salsa, Cha Cha, Rumba & Tango moves and turns.  And, you can take all the steps to the dance floor with or without a partner!  Also try Zumba® classes or Dancing4Health to keep moving.  Instructor Lisa Myhre

Zumba® Fitness Classes 

Zumba®     Get out of the gym and join Sioux Falls Zumba® dance party and fun-packed workout.  Get your body moving in a whole new way!  Drawing on simple dance steps from Salsa, Cha Cha, Tango and more, Zumba® classes use interval training- alternating fast & slow music- to burn calories while keeping your heart rate up.  Class is suitable for all levels, including those just getting started with an exercise program.  Pre-registration is required.  Instructor Ahva Halma, also a registered nurse, is trained in Zumba®Gold, Zumba I®, Zumba II®, & ZumbAtomic®.  Also try SalsaSolo or the Dancing4Health class for more Latin dance fun!
     
ZumbAtomic® for kids!     An exhilarating dance workout specifically for kid's minds & bodies.  Parents will love taking the class with their children.  Instructor Ahva Halma is trained in kid's ZumbAtomic® & adult Zumba®.

Yoga & Pilates Classes 

Pilates & Toning     A Pilates mat class in its purest & classic form.  This isn't a dance class, but an excellent way for dancers and non-dancers to increase overall body strength, toning & flexibility.  Pilates centers your balance.   Beginners welcome.  Sioux Falls Pilates instructor Rebecca Hansen.

Yoga     Sioux Falls yoga classes for all ability levels, even beginners!  A dynamic, low-impact workout emphasizing mind/body well being and muscle-toning to promote total balance & fitness.  Bring your own mat if you have one.  Yoga Fit certified instructor, Ahva Halma is also a registered nurse.

Yogalates      Start a new workout combining the balance, breath, and flexibility-building of Yoga with the emphasis on the core-strength vitality of pilates.  No previous yoga or pilates experience necessary.  Please bring a yoga mat if you have one.  Ahva Halma instructor.

World Dance 

Hula     Escape to Hawaii!  Learn steps & movements from party luaus.  If you are hosting a Tahitian or Polynesian themed party, we can teach fun lessons or perform hula for your event.

Masala Bhangra®     A high-energy, cardio, dance-workout using traditional steps of Bhangra plus sensational Bollywood dance moves from Indian movies such as Slumdog Millionaire to get you moving & dancing.

LatinFuzion/Belly Dance for Pregnant Moms     Prepare the body for childbirth while enjoying Salsa & Latin dance moves modified especially for moms-to-be!  This pregnancy exercise class adds Hula, Tahitian and belly dance movements to strengthen the body & spirit.  Gentle stretching to warm-up  and cool down.  Now forming classes- please call for more info.  Instructor Ahva Halma is a registered nurse and is certified in prenatal & postnatal yoga.

Mom & Tots!     A fun, interactive  class for parent (Mom, Dad or Grandparent) and child (age 12-35 months)  During this "one on one" time, parents will have the joy and fun of helping to develop the child's motor skills, coordination, and musicality through dance movement.   More information on Children & Family page.
