HOW LONG DO THE CLASSES
RUN? Most classes are formatted to provide students
with a continuum from Sept through May. Though it is not required, we do recommend attending classes for this duration. Much
like other activities such as music lessons or gymnastics, a steady, constant program provides students with continuity that
establishes a solid foundation in what they learn while it promotes the ability to progress at a pace that is both sensible
and optimal. IS THERE A REGISTRATION
FEE? Yes, however it is nominal – only $5. The
purpose of a registration fee is to secure a space for the student in a class. This is how it works: When a student enrolls,
a $15 registration fee along with the first month’s tuition is collected. During the 2nd and 3rd months following, a
$5 credit is applied on the student’s account, thus making the registration fee only $5. Though we hope this would not
happen, should a student discontinue classes during the 2nd or 3rd month, any remaining credits on account will be forfeited.
In the event a student discontinues during the first month, the full registration fee will be retained. DO YOU HAVE RECITALS? Recitals may occasionally be hosted, but only when unanimously agreed by parents, students, and the
instructor. Since the primary purpose of a recital is to provide students with a positive experience in performing for an
audience, our recitals (when hosted), are held at the studio on a low key, stress free, and semi formal basis involving little/no
cost. WHAT HAPPENS IF WE MISS A CLASS? Prompt, consistent attendance is always best for dancers and helps everyone
stay on task – but we realize life happens. Late arrivals are sometimes unavoidable; however they are disruptive, so
we ask that everyone does their best to be on time. If you know ahead of time of a late arrival or absence, please inform
the instructor in advance. With unexpected absences, please call the studio at 332 3700 to inform us. Missed classes cannot
be refunded or credited, nor can they be accumulated for credit/payment towards tuition. Missed classes can be made up in
another class as long as notice has been given to the instructor or studio and should be made up within a few weeks of the
absence(s). Absences of extenuating circumstances will be handled on a case by case basis. CAN PARENTS AND OTHER GUESTS OBSERVE THE CLASS? Yes – anytime! There is a designated area for observers that allows for comfort without distraction
to the class while it is in session. Seating is limited, so please use discretion in the number of people in your party. We
recommend that parents of especially young children stay in case their child needs assistance to the restroom. It is respectfully
requested that all observers keep voice levels down and not use cell phones unless absolutely necessary. To preserve an optimal
environment for all, please be respectful of the facility and obey all posted signs and notices. To keep our dancers safe
and preserve the studio floor, we kindly ask that everyone entering the building remove and leave street shoes in the foyer.
There are designated areas for storing coats and other belongings to keep the floors unobstructed. Please, no food, snacks,
drinks, or gum. The studio is equipped with a drinking fountain and the studio sells bottled water, although a student may
bring a water bottle if they so choose.
CAN WE TAKE PHOTOS AND VIDEO? It is understandable
that our clients want to capture some of those special moments during dance class; however in the dance world it typically
is not customary to allow photography and video of class instruction. Please obtain prior permission from the instructor for
discretionary assistance in accomplishing your task with the best results and without disruption to the class. Your cooperation
is greatly appreciated. CAN WE BRING
A FRIEND OR RELATIVE TO JOIN THE CLASS? Occasionally
our dancers have unexpectedly brought a friend or relative to join them in class. Although we share in the excitement of sharing
the joy of dance with everyone, we cannot allow any person not officially enrolled in class to participate due to certain
liability issues. However, guests of dancers are always more than welcome to stay to observe the class. Our studio strives to provide impeccable service in an optimum
learning environment with safety, security, and comfort in mind for our clients. Your help is needed. When entering the studio
space, please close the door between the foyer entrance and the studio to keep the heat and AC regulated. Please place street
shoes and personal belongings in the designated areas to keep the common area and floor unobstructed. Parents should instruct
their children to wait for them before entering or leaving the building. Your adherence to following these simple guidelines
along with the other guidelines previously mentioned throughout this information is greatly appreciated. Thank You! TIPS AND TIDBITS: Dance shoes
should never be worn anywhere other than the studio and especially not outside. Dancers should be well rested and all bathroom needs taken care of before class. Access and entrance to the studio typically is no earlier than 15 minutes prior
to the starting time of the first class of the day, so please plan accordingly. The studio schedule is busy, so it is greatly appreciated if all students arrive and depart in a timely
manner to ensure so that the busy schedule of the studio can be maintained. Please use discretionary voice levels when classes are in session. If needing to use your cell phone, it is appreciated
if you step into the foyer. We are happy to serve you
and address any questions or concerns you may have. There are however occasions when there just simply isn’t ample time
before/after classes to properly and completely address your questions or concerns. When these occasions arise, please handwrite
a note with instructions for the instructor to call you, along with phone numbers and the best times to reach you so that
your questions and concerns can be addressed with ample time and undivided attention.
